Grayling Senior Reece Ferrigan is one of the best wrestlers to ever come out of Grayling and he proved it yet again on Wednesday, December 20th when he broke the schools all time career pin record against Boyne City.
Wrestling in the heavyweight position against Boyne City, Ferrigan scored a quick pin in the first round to give him 110 pins for his career. Reece has 132 wins in his career at this point and 110 (83%) of them have come by pin.
Coach Moore had this to say about Reece’s accomplishment, “He’s an animal. What I like about Reece is he gets you six points every time. He knows how to get the job done.” Reece’s motivation to wrestling started out at a very young age as his father coached the varsity program for many years. After his record breaking pin Reece had this to say, “It’s pretty awesome. It’s pretty awesome knowing my name is going to be up there with them.”
Reece sits just 35 wins away from breaking the school’s all-time win record with just over a month left in the season.
