Varsity Wrestling · Max Halstead takes 2nd place at MHSAA Individual Wrestling State Finals

Max Halstead recently added to his already impressive wrestling career at Grayling High School with a 2nd place finish in the 145 pound weight class at the MHSAA Individual Wrestling State Finals held at Ford Field on Saturday, March 2nd.

Max, who is currently a junior at GHS, is a two-time state placer (2nd place – 2019 & 6th place – 2018) and surpassed the 100 win mark this past season as well. His 2nd place finish this year is the highest finish by a Grayling Wrestler since Matt Evon finished in 2nd place in 1999. Max is also only the 6th wrestling in school history to place at states multiple times and is just the 9th wrestler in school history to be in the championship match in their weight class.
