Vikings News · MHSAA Reintroduction of Sports Programs (Updated 7/1/20)

Update (7/1/20) – Our Athletic Programs may continue their summer activities using our outside facilities but programs are now able to utilize our INDOOR FACILITIES beginning on Monday, July 6. The main difference in allowing the use of our indoor athletic facilities is that in regions 6 & 8 indoor activity may take place in groups of 50 or fewer and everyone is required to wear a face mask unless they are participating in a high intensity aerobic activity. Original Post (6/9/20) – Based on Governor Whitmer’s latest executive orders from Friday, June 5, the MHSAA has put forth to its member school a set of guidelines that they must follow in order to begin to reintroduce their athletic programs. Here at Crawford Ausable Schools we have taken those guidelines and adapted them to make sure that all of our student athletes and coaches are able to restart their respective sports programs safely. We have highlighted a few of the guidelines that we are introducing below. Please click here for the complete school plan for the reintroduction of our sports programs.

  • Only OUTDOOR FACILITIES will be available at this time. We will not be allowing anyone to use our indoor facilities until Monday, July 6th. In Regions 6 & 8 outdoor activity may take place in groups of 250 or fewer.
  • All coaches and athletes will be screened daily for signs/symptoms of COVID-19 prior to participating, including a temperature check. If anyone has a temperature above 100.3 or answers yes to any of the questions they will be sent home immediately and will be recommended to see their physician for further evaluation.
  • Everyone is encouraged to wear cloth face coverings at all times and are strongly encouraged to wear cloth face coverings whenever physical distancing is not possible. Individuals should practice physical distancing while not involved in active participation.
  • All athletic equipment used during a workout or practice will be cleaned before, during and after each activity.

Please reach out to your respective Varsity coach for the date and times of their workouts. You can find a complete list of coaches and their emails by clicking here.
