Vikings News · MHSAA Amends Requirements for Sports Physicals for 2020-21 School Year

We are just under two weeks away from the start of fall sports and many of our programs have already been hard at work this summer getting ready for their upcoming seasons. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the difficulty to schedule appointments the MHSAA has waived the requirement for all athletes to have a current sports physical for the upcoming school year.

Instead any athlete in 7-12th grade who had a valid sports physical from the 2019-2020 school year (one completed after April 15, 2019) can complete the two-page MHSAA Sports Health Questionnaire and turn it into either the middle or high school office. This form will take the place of your sports physical for this school year and must be signed by the athlete and parent. These forms will be kept on file in the school office along with your valid sports physical from last year. To find one of these forms you can stop into the middle and/or high school office and grab a form or you can print one off from the MHSAA website or the athletic website (located under the more tab). All students are still encouraged to get a sports physical if they are able to but the MHSAA recognizes the difficulty it has been to try and schedule appointments.

Please note that if you do not have a valid sports physical from the 2019-2020 school year you are still required by the MHSAA to obtain one for this school year. If you have any questions, please contact the athletic office at 989-344-3523 or at nmaury@casdk12.net.
